Annual Fishing Tournament

This mission of Camp Big Sky is to provide accessible fishing, camping, boating and other related outdoor opportunities to children and adults with disabilities.

Camp Big Sky will be hosting our Third Annual Fishing Tournament on Saturday, May 19.  Documents are available below for download.

Come and join us for a family fun event at beautiful Lakeland Park in Canton. This unique event teams twenty of our campers of all ages with disabilities with experienced tournament fishermen for a Bass Masters style competition complete with a weigh in and awards ceremony.

Attendees will have several activities from which to choose including bank fishing, bags, bocce ball, kite flying, face painting and a miniature farm animal exhibit. The gentle terrain and paved walking paths allow for easy viewing of the actual tournament fishing so you can cheer on your favorite competitors. Our friends from the Elks Lodge in Canton will have food available for purchase and we will be selling raffle tickets with at least 20 prize packages each worth a minimum of $250 available.

While the actual tournament is restricted to confirmed participants we encourage you to join us at our largest fundraising event of the year. Admission is free and all proceeds benefit Camp Big Sky, allowing us to continue providing accessible outdoor recreational opportunities to children and adults with disabilities and their family, friends, and caregivers; all at no cost for day activities.

Lakeland Park is located just off of Illinois Route 78 on the north end of Canton. Simply turn off of Route 78 at the old Canton Country Club (sign to Lakeland Park) and follow the road for approximately two miles.

Hope to see you there! Contact Brad Guidi. Executive Director, at exec@campbigsky.org or at 258-6002 with any questions.
