Facilities

• 12' X 16' accessible cabin complete with attached wheelchair ramp, sits high atop a hill overlooking Marj-El Lake.  The 6' wide wrap-around porch, part of which is screened and fairly bug free, is waiting for you and a good book. The cabin sleeps four downstairs in two sets of bunk beds. The cabin is powered by a charged bank of batteries which provide 110 volts to outlets. This system is intended to support low amperage appliances such as fans, radios, and lights. The system is not designed for heavy loads, however we can operate our window air conditioner directly from our 5000 watt Honda generator when necessary to create a cool zone. A battery charger will allow you to re-charge batteries at the camp.  A small wood stove provides heat when a chill is in the air and makes the cabin even cozier.
• 24' square roofed pavilion on a concrete slab which features two large wheelchair accessible picnic tables that can accommodate ambulatory and non-ambulatory campers.  Great for providing shelter from the elements.  
• Six accessible port-a-potties, as well as two changing stations
• Small camper with a kitchen that includes cooking supplies and utensils, a working propane powered stove, oven, refrigerator and heater. Note: We do not currently have hookups for water or electricity but will consider allowing small campers on a case by case basis.
• 4 foot wide accessible trail ways link the cabin, picnic area, dock, campfire ring, camper, loading platform and accessible port-a-potties.  A section of the trail way serves as an interpretive nature trail, which provides educational opportunities for nature study.  Stays illuminated through the night by propane powered lanterns.
• 12' X 20' accessible roofed fishing pier is ready for anglers.  It accommodates five for fishing and another seven or so to observe. 
• Concrete boat ramp at the 14-acre lake provides safe launching and retrieval of your boat or ours. The ramp is 15' wide and 20' long with an approximate depth of 4' at the end.
• 24' pontoon boat
• 6' X 17 ½' accessible fishing boat. A bow mounted ramp provides safe and secure boarding and a quick release tie down system secures a wheelchair and its occupant at just about any location they desire. A 30-inch safety railing provides additional security. The boat will accommodate three wheelchairs and was designed to allow trained and certified operators in wheelchairs to pilot the boat. The boat is powered by dual 82 pound thrust MotorGuide trolling motors on the stern and one mounted on the bow. Winched anchors on the port and starboard provide secure anchorage at the flip of a switch. A high intensity spotlight and running lights allow for evening and early morning excursions. A 1500 gallon per hour automatic bilge pump and injected floatation foam in all four corners makes the boat an extremely safe watercraft. A 24 inch live well keeps your catch alive during your entire fishing trip. The boat is operated by a qualified and trained volunteer with our organization.
• Platform tent, set on a raised deck, so campers stay high and dry.  Sleeps five comfortably with two bunk beds and a cot.  Screen netting on windows and entrances keeps the bugs out.
• Elmer Guidi Memorial - Under Marj Gudi’s direction, landscaper Kevin Hearn’s designed a plan and completed a new memorial on the very spot Marj and Elmer would sit and enjoy the peace and tranquility of what is now Camp Big Sky.  The memorial stone features a fish, gun, camera and a set of golf clubs to represent some of the things that Elmer loved in life.
• Propane gas grills and propane.
• Fire pit for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs or just taking off the chill.
• Running water is available through two wells on the campsite, with pumps in place.
• Lighting is provided by double mantle propane and battery powered lanterns throughout the camp.
• A 14' jon boat and trolling motor is available.
• Two large hammocks are strategically located for an afternoon nap.
